Good day to all! Today is Day 56 of the 100 Candidates in 100 Days campaign, and we start off with the Twelfth District as the next congressional district to be covered in Florida’s races. Before we begin, it’s important for you to know that the Republican party within the Twelfth District have cancelled the primary as nobody ran against current incumbant Gus Bilirakis. As such, he is the only Republican candidate within the district. So, let’s get into it:
Today’s Candidate: Gus Bilirakis
Gus is a longtime politician and candidate. He has been involved in one way or another consecutively since 1999. First, he was a member of the Florida House from 1999 to 2007. Then, from 2007 to 2013, he was actually the representative of District 9 in the House. Most recently, and I say recently with an asterisk, he has spent from 2013 to present day as the candidate for District 12.

Gus is headed straight to the primary as the Republican candidate, and as such, he is directly aligned with the conservative ideology:
Passing tax reductions for properties in order to help residents be able to afford homes.
Enforcing safety in schools and neighborhoods by increasing funding for police
Expanding access to mental health services by increasing the amount of mental health care providers that qualify under medicare
This concludes Day 56! Thank you very much for reading. Surprisingly, that is the entire Republican candidacy across the entire 12th District, so look forward to covering the Democratic candidates within the coming days.
