Hello everyone! We are already more than a week in to this project, and we are fast covering the race for governor. Today, we will see what stances Jerry Demings takes in regards to the issues that Floridians care about in this upcoming election.
Today’s Candidate: Jerry Demings
Demings has had a long history of public service. He has had the positions of Orlando Police Chief, Orange County Sheriff, and is now the Mayor of Orange County. Now, he is running for governor on a platform of affordability and community unity.
Demings is currently running as a Democrat. His running posititons, on the other hand, are much more local in nature compared to his oppositon, such as:
Protecting Floridian drinking water and stopping corporations for pumping too much and selling off the aquifier
Enacting broader regulations on insurance companies to try and drive down prices to stop them from overcharging on their rates
Expanding the reach of Medicaid to apply to many more Floridians to provide more jobs in the healthcare industry and take care of families.
