Good day to all! Today is Day 63 of the 100 Candidates in 100 Days campaign, and we start with a brand new district today! This is the 14th district, and as has been the case for the past several districts, this district has also cancelled the primary election for one of two major parties. As it stands, it is the party aligned with their current incumbent Kathy Castor, who is aligned with the Democratic Party. How does this candidate compare to the long list of opposition she will be facing in the general election?
Today’s Candidate: Kathy Castor
Castor has a tremendously long history within the House of Representatives, as she has served nearly 14 years within this position. Before this enormous tenure of office, she was part of district 11’s house of represenatives from 2007-2013. Even before that, she was on the Hillsborough County Board of Commissioners from 2002-2006. That’s almost 25 years within some form of government.

Castor is running with the Democratic party, and as such, she is aligned squarely with the liberal ideology:
Prioritizing clean energy and climate policies, particularly when it comes to oil drilling.
Encouraging the expansion of Medicare to more citizens
Establishing a path for citizenship of undocumented immigrants
This concludes Day 63! Thank you very much for reading, and please look forward for the coverage of the Republican party’s candidates within this district.
