Good day to everyone! It’s day 21 of the 100 Candidates in 100 Days campaign, and that means we are three full weeks into this event. Today, we move on to Florida’s second district, and begin our coverage of the candidates in that race. Normally I would start off with the incumbent of the district, but he has decided not to run for reelection, so o start things off on the Democratic primaries is Yen Bailey.

Today’s Candidate: Yen Bailey

Bailey is the daughter of Vietnamese refugese who have spent decades living in Northern Florida and have raised their children there. As such, she is well familiar with District 2. Before running for Congress, she was an attorney who advocated against child abuse with the Gaurdian ad Litem program.

Bailey is running for the Democratic ticket, and as such, many of her values lean on the liberal ideology, such as:

  • Implementing universal healthcare

  • enacting an assualt weapons ban and magazine ban

  • Expanding abortion rights

  • Making an attempt to remove interest groups from policy passage and elections

This concludes Day 21! Thank you for reading, and I hope this has proved helpful for the members of the second district in knowing who one of the names on your ballot is and how you feel towards them. Stay tuned for Day 22!
