About Me:
Hello everyone! Welcome to my newsletter which acts as an extension of a passion project which I have been leading since 2022 during the midterm elections and the local election in Central Florida. I am a high school student passionate about politics and the free access to accurate information relating to our elected officials. Even though my personal passions lie with the judiciary, my conversations with those around has made me aware about a need which is in my ability to fill, at least in my community, that is.
I intend on giving small quotes from people worth admiring in the middle of my posts as a sort of brain break. Here is the first:
“No person was ever honored for what he recieved. Honor has been the reward for what he gave.”
Why a newsletter?
The purpose behind this project:
During the 2022 Midterm, State, and Local election, I recognized a need for information in my community by people who did not keep themselves constantly connected to the news. This need was further exemplified in my family, who did not recognize the names on the ballot during the general election, and were altogether lost when it came to whom they believed would be the best candidates in their prospective positions. As such, I began to do independent research on each candidate’s values, goals while in office, and qualifications to become involved in that space. Much to my surprise, this simple input and summary of information was greatly valued by those around me, as my format was nonpartisan and useful for prossessing information in a timely manner. During the 2024 election cycle, I received many requests from members of my community to continue this research and deliver it to them in time for the general election in November. This, too, was met with much gratitude from the people around me. With 2026 also being an election year, I have decided to try and expand these efforts to more people by publishing this information for anyone interested in the people who hold and aspire to be in office.
What about during the election off-season?
I do not intend to abandon the newsletter during the time between elections. Instead, I would like to keep those elected accountable by keeping “tabs” on their performance while in office. Hence the name of the letter, “Sunshine Promise Watch.” I will keep this information as nonpartisan as possible by stating objective information about the actions and statements of office holders and candidates, regardless of my opinions. In this space, my opinions are irrelevant.
What sort of schedule will you be writing off of?
I am still a student, and work hard towards my studies. I have many other different aspects of my life that also take up a large amount of time. Regretfully, this means that I cannot write on a daily basis, or anything with such frequency. I expect to be able to publish a new overview of an official on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. This is subject to change as I guage time constraints and the like. Thank you for your consideration in this.

… and anything else that might be useful to the people in forming their opinions towards a public official.
